Sources close to the family of Lisa Shams say they have once again called for a fair and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young woman.
Relatives of Lisa told Saniha News Agency that she died in Kabul after allegedly being subjected to torture by her husband, leaving behind five children.
The family is demanding that all details of the case be clarified and that those responsible be held fully accountable.
Shamsuddin Shams, Lisa’s father, claims that his daughter’s husband works in the office of Mullah Hassan, the Taliban’s Chief Minister, and alleges that he enjoys the support of influential circles.
He stressed that justice can only be achieved through the establishment of the truth, free from any pressure or interference.
He also called for those responsible to be brought to account and for the case to be investigated in a transparent and independent manner.
In recent days, Lisa Shams’ family has repeatedly urged the relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive and impartial inquiry into the case.
They say they will continue their legal efforts and advocacy until the truth is revealed and justice is served.
