Samira Nawa Amini, a Danish politician of Afghanistan origin, has been appointed as Denmark’s Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities.
According to an official announcement by the Danish government, she assumed office on Wednesday, June 3, replacing the previous minister in the role.
A member of the Social Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre), Nawa Amini has been actively involved in policy areas related to economic development, employment, gender equality, and climate affairs.
Her appointment comes as climate action and the transition to green energy remain among the Danish government’s top priorities.
